Football

Football, also known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net, primarily using the feet. Players can also use their bodies, except for their hands and arms, to maneuver the ball, with the exception of goalkeepers, who are allowed to use their hands within their penalty area.

The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. It is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Matches are typically played in two halves, each lasting 45 minutes, with a break in between.

Football is one of the most popular sports worldwide, known for its global competitions, including the FIFA World Cup and various domestic leagues. The sport promotes teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness and is played in many variations and at various levels, from amateur to professional.
